Why is sun block so hard to get off CD cases?

In the summer, after I had applied sun block on myself, I listened to a CD. While fumbling the CD case, I must have left some greasy block on my fingers that had transferred itself to the CD case. It made the case go all cloudy and I’ve tried practically everything to get it off, water just bounces right off it (obviously.) In the end I just gave up and swopped CD cases. It was my fave CD aswell! grrr

Any ideas guys?

There’s this new substance newly discovered in 2800 BC called soap. You should visit the local apothecary to get you some.

I picked up something called GooGone from Target and it turned out to be miracle stuff.

Sticky bits on objects that are left behind when you take the sticker off: gone.

Mascara that had been ground into the off-white carpet: gone.

The yucky sticky mark that the builder left on the shower flower: gone.

This is exciting stuff! Its hard to stop once you start.

Are you saying it is/was still a greasy film or that it damaged the plastic. If it’s a film WD 40 will remove it.

:stuck_out_tongue: Of course I used soap and a brush. There isn’t a film on top but the parts of the CD case affected are really dull looking, translucent, cloudy etc.

Some of the components in sunblock will mar the surface of plastics. I think the label has a warning of this type.

Re your case why not just snap it apart and transfer the front and back paper cover inserts to another clear and perfect CD case? If you’re careful they snap apart and back together easily.
