Heh.
I think we should discuss this issue over wine now that I am moved in.

Jackmanni, did Mr Brooks have any opinions to offer as to whether or not Ms Palin would fit in with the blue collar crowd at Applebee’s salad bar?
You know how I know Mark Shields is going to Heaven? Because he didn’t try to strangle David Brooks. Not even once!
Bricker, I haven’t had all that much to say against John McCain although I am a firm Obama supporter and have been for a long time. But I am sickened by his choice for a Vice Presidential running mate.
Would he have nominated a man with those same credentials?
If by any chance she does become VP or even (horrors!) the President of the United States, I think it will set the Women’s Movement back a hundred years.
Mark my words. This is a deceptive and self-serving woman. She gives a lively speech. And that is scarey.
I hope many agree with you. I know I do.
Something happened lately… What was it? Oh yah they just had a Republican Convention. Oddly enough, when that happens it is all over the news, all over talk shows and even on this board. What would any one expect? Of course when McCain surprises almost everyone with his choice of VP ,even more of a fury follows. This does not happen in Brickerland?
I think Bricker has a point that the liberal movement is more enthusiastic than it is populated. (But could have made the point better, since I consider all of those questions he points at to be valid and in need of direct answers from her, on the record, right away. Her choice is insulting enough, but the way they are playing her in the campaign is only more so.)
Anyway, I generally agree with Bricker that America is a conservative country at large. We wouldn’t be where we are if it wasn’t. This is a country that REelected GWB. We liberals might be excited, but we are still outnumbered, and that is why I expect McCain to win.
Michael Moore recently posted a letter saying more or less, “Don’t laugh too hard at the moose jokes because this is a nation full of hunters”. And he’s right. The fun part is that the intro to one of his books is all about “America really has liberal values, but just gets duped to voting conservative!” I never agreed with the second one. It strikes me as wishful thinking. I think his new opinion is closer to the truth. I don’t think America is capable of electing Obama. In 4-16 more years of Republican rule (Re-elect Palin 2020!), we will still be looking back at where we might have made that left turn at Albuquerque … and then voting R again to protect our guns and babies from the commies.
Please prove me wrong America.
Personally, I’d like to see Obama win by one electoral vote, and win each state he wins by one vote, and to get zero votes in each state he loses. That is because (according to the standards of his grass roots fundraising) I am a major doner to his campaign, and I’d like to get the most bang for my buck. Call this the “best grade is the lowest A, worst is the highest B” school of winning elections.
Now I know that isn’t realistic, and I don’t have any issues with how Obama is running his campaign, and I also realize that a landslide victory translates into a mandate, so I won’t complain about a landslide when it happens.
The real answer to the OP: After months of negative campaigning, John McCane is still behind…Whats wrong with that guy, why can’t he close the deal?
You might think that, but you’d be mistaken.
