The end of the C&C series does not necessarily mean the end of Westwood. They’ve got a MMORPG “Earth and Beyond” (which I’ll never touch, since I can’t stand them), and a few other games that aren’t C&C. However, I will admit that IMHO the Command and Conquer games were the best Westwood has to offer.
Perhaps this being “Westwood’s last C&C game” means that EA bought out the entire franchise, and any further games in the series can be made by any producer in EA’s clutches.
Then again, that’s probably just wishful thinking. If anyone other than Westwood gets their hands on C&C, the results will probably be pretty lousy.
There will be more C&C games. It’s a popular, successful franchise. They just aren’t going to be developed by Westwood.
Although I’m beginning to really dislike EA. They’ve gotten very lazy. I think Sega has surpassed them in the sports department for everything except football.
See I just recently finally picked up a copy of C&C (Red Alert, with The Aftermath thrown in) out of a bargain bin.
I installed, played it, and found it a decent game. Naturally, the company folds/is bought out almost instantly.
I did the same thing to Looking Glass with the Thief games, and System Shock. (Well, I grabbed up Thief II the second it hit the shelves, but you get the idea.)
Hmm, maybe if I start getting all my software from “warez doods” they’ll all vanish, and game companies will go back to putting more effort into original products, and bug testing, than they put into copy protection routines.

My first thought upon seeing the thread title was “Blade Runner”. I enjoyed this game too, a pretty cool detective story with settings from the movie and various endings. The only problem I had was trying to shoot that giant rat
