Because he’s been trying to push people to perform their SD searches using www.boardreader.com, that’s why. It’s in his sig, and he’s posted more than a few messages on here about it, extolling its virtues.
And you know something? He’s absolutely, positively right. Despite being a lawyer.
I just wandered over there and did a search on myself. Now, had I done that on here, it would have tied up the search engine forever. But there, it took only a few seconds.
I think Arnold was going to add Boardreader to the FAQ. But if you guys haven’t been to the site, you really oughta try it out net time you need to search on something.
As long as you include “SDMB” in your search string, you should find what you’re looking for. Sure, you might not be able to search a particular forum, and you might not be able to search a particular time period, but it’ll make the SD search engine a lot happier.
So cmon, folks! Let’s jet over there to search on stuff, even those vanity searches.
And thanks again to minty for promoting this site.
Yeah, you have to have a fairly specific idea of what you’re looking for with Boardreader. And I’m not sure how often they update their database, so brand new threads aren’t real likely to show up for a while. But it’s lightning quick and anything that conserves precious hamster power is okay by me.
