Why the fuck are members of congress crowning Rev. Moon?

I’m a cynical guy, as cynical as the rest of you. But my jaw dropped at this blog entry showing captures of Korean TV. Evidently, members of Congress just crowned that fucker Rev. Moon as the messiah, in a federal building! (From the link, at least one Congressman appears to be there, Danny K. Davis (D-IL), and Moon’s account says there was at least one other Republican congressman)

Why the fuckity fuck would any sane member of Congress do this? Yes, I know, it’s all about money and power. But what the fuck were they thinking?

And what shitty fake Jew is wearing a prayer shawl and blowing a shofar at this event?

And why the hell isn’t this getting reported? I realize this has no official meaning, but where is the outrage?

I haven’t seen anything on this yet on the SDMB. I considered posting this in “Great Debates” but I doubt anyone will take Moon’s side. It’s more of a “General Question” with cursing thrown in.

Moon is something like an Emperor Norton. An incredibly wealthy Emperor Norton, one who owns the newspaper of record for Beltway conservatives (nothing like that commie hippie rag, the Washington Post).
