It was not compulsive eating or hatred of compulsive eaters that evolved, but those who had the ability to store fat.
Some of you talk about “will power” without being aware of the brain chemistry involved. Why should the same medication that controls convulsions give a person a “boost” in will power? I don’t know the answer, but it works just fine for me.
Also, I think that I proved that I had plenty of “will power” when I stayed on nothing but liquids for six months. I did it without having my jaws wired. By the time that I was forced off of liquids, I had no desire for food at all and had to constantly remind myself that I needed to drink another shake. But as soon as I had to eat regular food again, I regained weight like crazy.
I have no problems with overeating now and I’m comfortable with my weight. If I lose another 25 pounds, fine. If I dont, fine. I’ve maintained a weight loss of 145 pounds for 7 years and it had nothing to do with will power.
Just because your appetite is easy to control, don’t think that it is because you have strong will power. It may simply be a difference in body chemistry. If you are under thirty and have no trouble with your weight, sometimes things have a way of changing with your hormones.
If you have the perfect body, I think that’s terrific.
