Why was my post deleted?

I’m not sure where this should have gone, so I brought it here. I’m just curious as to why my post was deleted. I didn’t think it warranted deletion. It was technically a question and it wasn’t offensive or rule breaking in nature. Just kinda curious.

If you are referring to the “most offensive doper” thread, it was originally just locked for what I would hope are obvious reasons. I don’t know why it was subsequently deleted, since the reasons given by the mod (samclem) as well as a warning not to start a similar one are now not visible to you or anyone else who isn’t a mod.

Obviously you felt this was a good topic or you wouldn’t have started it.

But no, “Most offensive Doper to get banned,” that fell into the “Too stupid to live” category.

We tend to remove those threads pretty quick.

No useful purpose is served by rehashing bad behavior.

For the greater good of the board, it was removed. We houseclean like that when appropriate.

I cannot see what the moderator told you in the thread, so I will just explain the reasoning behind closing/deleting your thread. Once a person is banned from this message board, it is generally discouraged to speak about them because it gives attention to them, and then they might decide to try to come back under another identity. So, beyond discussing the banning right after it has happened to understand why it happened or to decry it, talking about a person who as been banned is frowned on.

okey dokey, thanks guys. I didn’t get to see the warning. I figured it might get closed. Thanks for the explanation guys. I appreciate your swiftness with explanation. I won’t do it again.

samclem closed it with this note:

I disappeared it. Regular house cleaning; nothing against you.

ARGH!!! Everytime I see your username, the x turns into a damn g!

At least then I can pronounce it I guess…sigh.

I don’t understand what you mean, Gploder. It seems to make it harder for me.
