Are you sure about that? I was under the impression that Giraffe made his board almost exactly the same time as Domebo. In fact, there was at one point talks of a merger.

Please note the exchange above wherein InvisibleWombat made a mistake, admitted it, apologized, gave a reasonable explanation of his thought processes to increase mutual understanding and took a prudent course out of the minefield. This is how it’s done, and should you be inspired to follow his example I’m reasonably sure it won’t actually hurt anything more than your pride, which could no doubt use a little deflating.

Seven is not the first long-time poster to be banned for being a jerk, nor, I suspect, will he be the last. For some time, it’s been obvious that he’s had enough of this board.
Perhaps somewhere out there on the internet, he can find a message board that suits him. It’s apparent that the SDMB is not that board.

Frank, the issue is not whether or not he was being a jerk. The issue is whether or not he should have received a suspension, in an attempt to correct his jerkiness, before the ultimate club of banning was used. This issue has not been adequately addressed by the moderators posting here, yet. And I believe it is currently being discussed behind the scenes.

As for dudes stating it had something to do with his moderation of another board, I suggest you look at the UnaBoard, owned by our very own coal-goddess Una. Nothing wrong with running another board in competition.

I guess I’m not clear on how an admin warning a poster in a PM that, “You have nothing meaningful to contribute and only post at this site to snipe, attack, and annoy,” makes that admin a jerk. Instead of taking the warning to heart, Seven was proud of it.
How would you have preferred that TubaDiva phrased that warning?
