You know, the more I look at this “reasoning”, the more it bugs me.
No suspension? I can see where the warnings were appropriate. But the next step in your decision making is a posting he made about the Snarkpit, which as I understand it, he was looking for some clarification on why the thread was deleted, and then a quote from a PM from TubaDiva, to me a totally classless thing to write to any poster from an admin, moderator, or anyone else that represents the “board”, but once written, is fair game to be quoted. TubaDiva wasn’t misquoted, and I don’t see how that’s something that is even remotely ban-worthy. I would have quoted that line myself and put it in my sig. Sleeping with Butterflies hit the nail on the head with her comment about the sig quote.
This is one of the weakest bannings I can remember seeing.
Criticism of the board should be permitted. After all, criticism can make the board better. But I guess only if TPTB are listening. <choke> Sorry. Coffee almost came out of my nose after I re-read that.

This banning is nonsense. But I’d be willing to bet this thread will be ignored by TPTB and no apology or un-banning will ever occur.
Just how many people have received nasty PMs from her? Now I am starting to feel all left out that I’ve never received one. Perhaps it should be arranged that every new member gets a nasty PM as part of the welcome package?
Now, now. If we all jump on the bannedwagon, who will be left here to defend those who jumped on it before us? I too am willing to bet that no mod or admin comes back to this thread unless somebody breaks a rule. Any volunteers?
Kat: As long as you have any sort of “Member” in your status, threats to leave the board inherently ring hollow. Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t see the board as being any worse than it was back when you would have had to re-up.
As for my opinion on the matter: Seven may not have been the most respectful poster (and, like too many here, cares way too much about Liberal), but a banning without at least a suspension to give the person the ability to make reparations? Yeah, that is totally not kosher.
I hope this is a joke. This is a very bad idea. If you do that, you are damning your cause. You will just serve to justify the banning, as you are demonstrating that your opinion is only held by rulebreakers.
Yeah, it’s ad hominem, but it’s also human nature. And while some mods show a propensity for intellectual arguments, it’s awfully rare amongst many posters here to reassess their “gut” decisions.

What, there’s a button she can press to remove “member” from beside her name? Sure, she can fail to re-up next time, but there’s not much to be done between now and then, is there? Seeing as how it’s been less than a year since the rules here changed dramatically and for the worse, your statement about “when you would have had to re-up” is illogical. One could even argue that this place became worse the moment 7’s ridiculous and thoughtless banning took place. I’ve got no beef with you really, but I disagree with your statement to Kat. She’s not one for hollow words.
Terrible decision. The moderators can’t even be bothered to try to defend the stupidity of it all. Seven’s banning’s little more than punishment for helping to run a spin-off board and insulting the sensibilities of Tuba by quoting her own words.
