Why would a true Democrat vote Republican? And the Fiery Primary Season of 2008.

Some people ,especially women.are heavily invested emotionally in Clinton being the first woman president. They are suffering because she is losing. Some feel she is being gradually cheated out of the nomination. It is hard to say,Oh well we lost ,now I forgive all,.

I will vote for whoever the Democratic candidate is. I know which I would prefer it to be, but I will vote for whichever one it is.

The Obama campaign can either write them off as idiots and not try to get their votes, or they can figure out what their concerns are and try to allay those concerns.

According to her remarks during the primary process, she wants to be out of Iraq within a year.

This may or may not jive with her previous voting record but I doubt many people supported Clinton because they hoped we’d stay in Iraq for years while chasing a vague definition of victory.

Cheated? Only in the sense that people are choosing the other candidate over her. How that can be construed is cheating is beyond me.

Because that’s how the Clinton campaign has been spining it. From using the SNL skits to ‘prove’ that Obama was the media darling, to Bill’s claiming that she’s being treating disrespectfully, to her advisers screaming that her MI win was ‘high-jacked’. The constant mantra, of popular vote, of Florida and MI being denied their rights…of the claim that the SD’s are ignoring her clear mandate in order to give the nomination to someone lesser; because of <insert reason> here.

No one seems to be saying, that he beat her fair and square; at least not loudly enough to drown out Clinton’s claim to the contrary.

They’ve been feeding this beast for sometime and now like all monster’s it’s beyond the control of it’s creators…hence the attacks at the RBC against even the Clinton supportors on the panel.

It’s insane, but there it is. The question is, how wide spread is that belief?

More in the Friedman tradition. His chief economic advisor is Chicago School.

And they will. Try, that is. But some people are simply recalcitrant.

Edited to remove hijack.

I’ll say it. Barack Obama won the nomination (which I will concede he has done for all practical purposes) fairly and squarely. I’m a Clinton supporter who admits my candidate lost and yours won and I’ll most likely vote for him in November (barring any new information between now and then).

But as for other people having difficulty - have you been listening to the stuff you’ve been saying? We’ve been told for weeks now that we’re supporting a candidate who’s the embodiment of evil and had to listen to insults against her that make us question your sanity. And now you’re doing a victory dance and telling us we have to join your campaign. I’m assuming there’ll be some purification rituals to cleanse our sins and a period of probationary status in acknowledgement of your moral superiority. Hard to say why people aren’t rushing in.

Fortunately, Obama himself has not indulged in the kind of behavior that his followers have. I’m guessing he will probably be gracious in his victory and will praise Hillary Clinton for the good she has done, turn a blind eye to her flaws, and welcome her support and her supporters into his campaign.

You who? Not I.

You’ve painted me with a very board brush, based on what ? I don’t think I’ve made any over the top comments on Clinton and in fact will be surprised if I made more than a few criticising Clinton herself, save to correct the record.

You have become what you rail against.

Now granted you may have meant the royal “you”, if so fine…but still.

I hope they will try. Although, I’ve got to agree with Little Nemo, here. Most of the actions and attitudes of Obama supporters don’t fill me with a lot of love or confidence about the candidate.

Same here. I’ve given my grudging support to Obama because I’m hopeful that his newfound love among the younger voters will help stop the constitutional amendment regarding marriage here in CA. The attitude expressed by a number of Obama’s supporters leaves a very bad taste in my mouth, enough so that the extent of my support will be to vote for him in November if he is the nominee. Clinton would have gotten much more from me for the general.

Yeah, it was disgusting to see all those Obama hecklers disrupting the DNC meeting with their jeers and boos.

He laid out his plans pretty clearly in his book. Basically they involve increased government spending on social programs. As he admits, the money for that has gotta come from somewhere. He doesn’t say so explicitly but he strongly implies they’ll come from increasing taxes on upper incomes. (It’s in the chapter where he describes a conversation with Warren Buffet, who also supports an increased tax burden on upper-level incomes, including his own.) As a good leader must, Obama surely listens to a variety of viewpoints, but unless he’s changed his mind, he is going to raise some people’s taxes.

Due respect, you’re missing the point. Taxes are like the poor; they will be with us always. Ron Paul himself would not be able to eliminate taxes. But Obama is a free-marketer at heart (and certainly Goolsbee is):

“I believe that America’s free market has been the engine of America’s great progress. It’s created a prosperity that is the envy of the world. It’s led to a standard of living unmatched in history. And it has provided great rewards to the innovators and risk-takers who have made America a beacon for science, and technology, and discovery.”

— Barack Obama, New York, NY, September 17, 2007

And yet poll after poll shows Obama voters say they would support Clinton at a higher percentage than Clinton voters say they will turn out for Obama. Why is that, do you think? I think Obama has conducted himself with far more dignity and restraint toward Clinton (and her supporters) than the reverse, too.

What we have seen is way beyond interesting, It has been grossly manipulative.

-Fiery sermons from Obama’s past minister – More like three ministers and hate speech. I am way beyond angry with the KKK and the TUCC and stupid racism. And no way are those ministers and that church in Obama’s past. 20 years of association makes Obama what he is! You got to ask why the TUCC has done what it has done.

-Rovian tactics by the Clinton Campaign – Bush BAD, Clinton BAD loaded messages produced an emotional rather than rational response. The whole point of propaganda!

-Enlightening prose from some wonderful Obama speeches – Hope sounds good but Hope is for sissies!

-Hiring and firing of campaign managers – Some heads have to roll in a revolution!

-Rejecting, disowning, denouncing of past aquaintances – We are all just cannon fodder to those who want power!

-The most money ever seen in any democratic primary being raised from the Internet – Kudos for the ministers of propaganda, the drive by media who are making the big bucks!

-Up to the minute information on each candidate and what they are saying and doing -

-Up to the minute state by state polls – **A tool used by the propaganda ministers.
**
-A divide almost right down the middle between both candidates – **Psychological warfare **- "The planned use of propaganda and other psychological actions having the primary purpose of influencing the opinions, emotions, attitudes, and behavior. which selects the appropriate propaganda message to release based upon the polling data to achieve near deadlock.

-Vitriol of the highest degree among Dems - Propaganda presents information in order to influence its audience to produce an emotional rather than rational response.

The game is rigged. I knew it the minute the media supported McCain. The media will keep all the advertising dollars and rig it so the election is a near tie and all campaign dollars are spent. I suspect McCain wins by virtue of the Reagan democrats and as you call them Clinton defectors. And rightfully so because he is the best qualified just as the democrats won congress in 2006 as they were what was needed at the time.

To all the abstainers, nose hold’ers, and Hope’rs:

Be loyal to yourself, then your family, and then your country, these are long lasting relationships that will keep you safe. Loyalty to a party, democrat or republican, is stupid as this relationship by nature must always be a compromise and it is more than likely that you will be the one to get shorted.

The game is rigged all right. After generously conceding a substantial chunk of Michigan, Obama is now being forced to win the whole thing by 3.

He personally seems to have shown dignity, that’s why I specified that his supporters are leaving the bad taste in my mouth.
