I notice sometimes, especially when really stressed, or laughing really hard, that I feel my heart beat go kinda funny.
It’s like I feel a rapid thumping, kinda irregular, and it’s very noticable (at least I assume it’s my heart. Don’t know what else would be beating like that)
If I start breathing deeply and relax, it goes away after a maybe 10-15 seconds.
Kinda like:
Pa - dump… Pa - Dump… Pa - dump… Pa - dump… Pada padapadapadapada… dumppada… Pa- dump… Pa - Dump…
Anyone with any medical experience know what this may be? I’m so far as I know a healthy 19 year old, but I do have a family history of high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and men dying in their 40’s of massive heart attacks.
I have this sometimes, too. Mine is Mitral Valve Prolapse. It’s common. And not dangerous. And brought on by stress.
See your Dr. But in the meantime don’t make yourself crazy about it.
You may possibly have a paroxysmal arrhythmia that comes and goes spontaneously. Certainly go see your doctor and get it checked out, but don’t stress out over it - it may turn out to be something totally inconsequential.
Most individuals have harmless extra or skipped beats thrown in to the heart’s normal rhythm every day. That accounts for over 98% of rhythm disturbances. However, one must make sure that the individual is not having one of those funky rhythms which can be potentially dangerous. See your doctor.
I wouldn’t take medical advice from the net thats why we all suggest seeing a doc. He can check your weight & other things & give ya a ekg. Which is a map of the electrical activity of the heart.
It’s probably nothing to be concerned about but thats why you have to hear it from a doc.
