For those curious, the term was created (popularized?) in 2001 by Dan Savage in his Savage Love column. Or more accurately, by his readers in a poll. Dan voted against “pegging” because he had an Aunt Peg and didn’t want that association, but the readers prevailed.
That’s where I learned about it, yeah. Not a… participant at all, nope.
