He still acts from time to time, but for the most part he’s a writer now. He writes columns on various publications, both online and offline, and he’s published a few books too.
He’s a Fark moderator, too.
Wil used to Mod his own MB - the soapbox - via his own site, which has/had (I’ve not looked in yonks) an excellent blog by Wil. Last time I looked he’d stopped Modding the MB due to his work commitments, including a part in an episode of CSI
Wesley Crusher was the most nauseating character ever to appear on any Star Trek Series.
So the Space Hippies rank above Wesley?!? I mean Yay Brother but… I just don’t reach.
He also writes the “Games of Our Lives” column for The Onion’s AV Club.
He’s also had a monthly column in Dungeon magazine. That’s Dungeons and Dragons modules, not B&D stuff. Just in case you were wondering.
Heh. From the actual review part for “Where No One Has Gone Before”:
Do it appears the rumors are true:
Wil Wheaton does have a posse.
But Wil Wheaton the man isn’t. I’'ve enjoyed reading his Onion A.V. club for quite some time.
I’m actually quite surprised he doesn’t post here, and under his real name. He’s not exactly shy on the 'net.
Oh, also don’t forget to read the comments that go along with those three reviews. Wil posts to them occasionally and other stuff crops up.
Such as this comment from Diane Duane who was actually the original writer of the Where No One Has Gone Before episode that Wil just ripped on. Even she knew it was terrible!
Lots of interesting behind the scenes stuff there.
Well, from the general tenor of this thread, probably because of all the fawning, and posters throwing their panties at him.
I don’t remember offhand - was Wheaton on that episode of Weakest Link when the Trek actors kicked some serious ass, scoring, I believe, the highest prize in that show’s history?
[sub]Goodbye.[/sub]
Well played.
Him and the actress who played B’Ellana Torres spent the whole episode sniping at eachother. It was…interesting.
Ah, yeah, I remember now. He was a jerk and later said he was only [Jon Lovitz]ACTING!!![/JL]
IIRC, it was the other way around. SHE was the one being a jackass to Wil, and later said it was all a put on, encouraged by the producers.
Oops, missed the last paragraph. It seems to back us both up. <_<
