Thing is, I don’t recognize every one in it – yes, I remember Sam, Jessica, Billy Idol, Steven Tyler, the guys from RATT ('member their video, starring Milton Berle, in drag), Slash, and … is that David Lee Roth playing the guitar for 2 seconds? I always wondered, and never knew.
Who are those other guys? And how will I find out something like that? It’s not like all that info is in the Wild Thing wikipedia entry, and I doubt there’s an IMDB page just for Sam’s video. And the internet wasn’t all knowing and all powerful back in the '80’s so I couldn’t have checked up on the topic back then. Hmmm … maybe the USENET did, but good luck dredging that now. Maybe some fan has built a page around this topic, but Goggle doesn’t help.
This is more frustrating than helpful, but way back when it came out I too wondered if that was Diamond Dave, except I knew he didn’t play any instruments. I friend of mine who was much more knowledgeable told me who it was (it’s not Roth) but for the life of me I can’t remember who he said! Someone from a 2nd tier hair-metal band I think (Poison, Warrant, Bullet Boys?)
