And by the same token, how do we know that the men would actually go through with the act of sex and weren’t just saying yes because they wanted to act macho, or they liked the attention and/or wanted to go out with the girl and thought saying no would jeopardize that, or were just saying yes for fun, or thought it was a joke and were playing along, or whatever.
Sadly, the only perfect way to test the true intentions of people probably wouldn’t get by the ethics advisory board. But if it ever happens, I volunteer.
Sometimes the request is indirect, though. Like, oh, let’s just give a hypothetical example of, say, a guy asks a girl to go to Key West with him. There’s just sort of sex implied in that. And sometimes it works.
So it looks like someone that needs a thesis needs to take this subject up and conduct a proper experiment taking into account different cities/socioeconomic levels/ages, etc.
