The thing is, “Outrage” is tiring. Think about how we feel at the tenth Trump outrageous act of the week. We’re just damned tired of this shit, and that’s about things that are real. Now imagine feeling that level of outrage over a lot of things that you know, in your heart, are just complete bullshit. How much harder would it be to maintain that outrage?
I wouldn’t be surprised to see JD or Usha file for some kind of amicable divorce. There’s no way she wants to spend the rest of her life with this asshole. If she didn’t see it before (or was willfully blind), it can’t be ignored now. He’s a bad person, and the kids and her would be better off without him. After everything we’ve seen since inauguration, JD marrying Mrs. Kirk would elicit a big yawn.
No, she’s fully on board. Hillary knew that Bill cheated. Ambition trumps all.
Bad as Bill was/ is, he has, or artfully feigns having, redeeming qualities.
It would play to Trump’s base well enough, but not outside it. Not that Vance himself would be all that appealing to the base…
Unartfully feigns?!
It’s funny how no one tried to hurt Charlie Kirk - in spite of his hate-mongering - until he demanded the release of every name in the Epstein files.
Why are you assuming she’s a good person?
Two words for you:
Melania Trump.
^They’re comparable in that they’re both ambitious women enabling very bad people, but otherwise they seem quite different. Melania seems like your basic Eurotrash opportunist with no real skills, whereas Usha was an accomplished lawyer who presumably has a bit of pride. Further, Trump is currently president, whereas Vance is just a lowly VP. I’m not sure how much shit Usha is willing to put up with to get a shot at First Lady, if she even covets that position at all.
I don’t see how Usha would settle for working as an attorney, when knows she has a shot at being married to the President of the United States. We already know she has poor judgement; look who she married.
^Just by remaining with Vance thus far she’s an enabler and a terrible person, and I agree that she would want to be married to the president.
I’m not sure she would put up with her husband openly doing stuff with the Kirk widow, however. In any case, it’s more likely that Vance would dump Usha.
If JD were to dump Usha and marry the widow Kirk, he could kiss his political career good-bye.
Kirk was not in a position to “demand” anything. He could scream and holler all he wanted about the Epstein files AND the people in charge could just ignore him and continue to NOT do anything,.
I think that if it were clear that Vance was the dumper, then yes. I think it’s also possible that he ends up pushing Usha away, maybe accidentally on purpose as human psychology is capable of doing, and then, at that point, maybe he’s too tempted to resist the temptation of being with the Ultimate and Totally Christian Widow.
Here’s the thing: It’s hard to believe that Vance is exercising good judgment when he’s already trash-talking his wife in very public forums, as well as failing to defend her against racists. You just don’t do that as a politician. So I think anything is possible with this guy.
Bolding mine.
Since when? When was the last time a GOP politician was held to account for trashing his wife? Ted Cruz famously sat there and took it when Trump went after his wife, and he’s still being elected. Trump buried one of his ex-wives on a golf course, and they lapped it up.
The only reaction they’ll have to JD dumping his wife and marrying some blonde woman (maybe this one, but there are others out there) will be a crowd of people shouting, “Finally!”, with some well-chosen racist comments added for good measure.
Well, that’s stuff directly related to Trump. Cruz failed to defend his wife against insults from Trump; he did not insult her himself. The lack of defense could have negatively affected him in a swing state or a civilized blue state, but hey, it’s Texas.
The rules that apply to Trump vis-à-vis the base don’t apply to anyone else except insofar as someone is directly serving Trump. Once Trump is gone, Vance will not inherit his master’s superpowers.
If Vance were to be with Erika Kirk before 2028, he might lie to himself that it wouldn’t hurt his presidential chances, but it would (personally, I don’t think Trump is going to make it through his current term and Vance will–vomit–be president by 2028, but the calculus is the same).
An attorney only needs one JD.
Unless she wants to Add Vance.
^^lol
