I just heard an unconfirmed report that Will Farrell died ina para-gliding accident? Anyone?
I work in a newsroom and there is nothing about this on the AP wires.
I have no idea of the trustworthiness of this source.
Seems fake:

Lots of misspelled words (It’s “Torrey Pines”, for starters) and it apparently happened yesterday (It’s not yet 2:00pm today in CA, so the accident was yesterday).
Dear God! I really hope that’s not true.
OK I am even more suspicious now that I see they say it happened yesterday.
Sorry for the interruption.
There isn’t anything at all on Google.
Besides, I really don’t see him as the paragliding type. It sounded ridiculous.
i-Newswire allows anyone to send them a press release; they publish anything. Also the source is “The News Times.” There seem to be several newspapers with that name, but none are in California (where the story purportedly originates). Also, newspapers don’t sent out press releases (they use the AP wire if it’s of national interest).
Hoax.
According to Google News, the linked source is the ONLY source for this story. ZERO other hits.
Isn’t that the same site on which there have been press releases claiming that John Basedow died in the Christmas typhoon and that Andy Kaufman had been hiding for 30 years?
I have some “show biz” connections, and I haven’t not this. It hardly seems the type of thing that could be kept a secret for over 24 hours.
the last line of that news story:
If you were born in 1968, you’d be 37.
Will Ferrel was born in 1967, amking him 38. The birthday is right though.
I say it’s another “actor” named Will Ferrell, if the story is true at all.
There’s nothing in the LA Times or SF Chronicle about this. If it had happened yesterday, I’m sure one of those two would have a story on it by now (they do have stories about Peter Tomarken dying yesterday).
I haven’t heard that he’s actually hit the ground yet, it’s just been a long, slow descent.
My cousin’s an actress. She has a big book of every working actor and their agent’s contact info.
Surely you know someone who can call his management and ask WTF?
No, that’s his projected career path…
My favorite quote from the article:
Damn those vain paramedics!
unless you were born on any of the 72 days between the beginning of the year and today, in which case you’d be 38. Now, if you were born on July 16, 1968, I agree, you would be 37. Fun game.
Once they stopped laughing, they asked WTF? It’s an Internet rumour kiddies
