Will Hillary for VP hand Dubya the election?

Kerry needs the conservative South and mid-west. The Democrats have traditionally been seen as being weak regarding defense & the military in general. If there is any hope of winning, he needs to address these issues and sway the moderately-conservative.

He’s not choosing Hillary. If he does, he loses.

The reminds me; I should really toss out that old Bush/Quayle '92 t-shirt.

What the hell is with the fetishistic obsession with Hilary among so many conservatives? Can someone explain this, please?

Stoid asks a fair question. It’s conservatives who continue to stir the “Hillary for VP” pot for some reason. I suspect it has to do with Limbaugh’s promised “Summer of Clinton” campaign to ( presumably ) whip the faithful into a frenzy and tarnish the Democratic candidate. I don’t know why the strong conservative antipathy to the Senator. The answer certainly isn’t that she is extra liberal. The Clintons are in deep with the Democratic Leadership Council to make the Dems more corporate friendly. Moving the Party to the right is their legacy. She’s not liberal but she is female and powerful. If I had to guess I’d go with rjung and blame conservative male insecurity.

So whats her price for bailing him out ?

Heartbeat now , or finger on the button in 08 , whats the difference , but two things come to mind for kerry to avoid her. One is that he is supposed to be getting a candidate from the south to balance his boston yankee thing , and the second is that most VP’s are usually impeachment insurance.

Hilary does not strike me as a team player , unless she is captain.

Unless Kerry actually wins ,and then it pushes her nomination ,to 2012 , in which case if the republic survives , would be swinging to a republican candidate , but thats more of an opinion.

Pretty much why I figure Kerry will pick a poison pill like her , in snow balls chance in a very warm enviroment.

I doubt that you will get a concrete reason out of anyone until its too late.

For me , she just creeps me out.

She is the kind of politician that would probably do well at the municipal level, but actually having real power scares me some what.

Its irrational , but hey I am human, lol

Because Rush told them to!

I wouldn’t say I hate Hillary, but I don’t like her. On a basic level, I don’t trust her. The move to New York scam didn’t exactly endear her to me (I didn’t vote for her or her opponent), and in general I feel she’s a little more power-hungry than even your average politician needs to be. That said, she seems to have done just fine in the Senate so far. Would I vote for her for President? In all likelihood, yes. But I’d rather not have to.

I agree with your prediction, but I think its result would be good for us. I think the right wing hysteria about Hillary would be so over the top that it would completely destroy their credibility with the center, driving them back to the fringes where they belong.

I also think the wingers would be hurt by the “chivalry effect” – going after Mrs. Clinton with the same gusto they went after Mr. Clinton would be perceived by many Americans as just too sick.

I thought the right-wing hysteria about Bill was going to serve that function, but instead, we got GWB. Be careful what you wish for!
