Will I be able to jump into American Horror Story: Freak Show tonight?

It is so interesting how different tastes make the world go round, because for me, I think this is the best Jessica Lange so far. Love the Dietrich / Sunset Boulevard vibe, I just wish the sound quality was better on her German accent. As for the rest? I’m definitely on board with that clown being the best thing to ever hit horror. I used to collect them, so I’ve seen my share of creepy, and they’ve never even made my old heart flutter once. However, this… thing, has me all goose bumpy just thinking about it. Sheesh. If I were a kid, you could forget it.

Just watched Ep 1 and I love it so far: the music, the 50s milieu, the spotty German accent, and the special effects.

After killing the fornicating teenager and scaring his captives, the clown seems like a typical B-movie slasher. But it’s John Carroll Lynch (Drew’s brother on the Drew Carey Show) under the make-up, so I hope he’s a character worthy of the actor.

There doesn’t seem to be another thread going about AHS, so I’m going to continue this one.

My son and I agree that Dandy is just about as scary as Twisty.

I feel like I missed something–why did Elsa hand over day-to-day control of the show to the Strongman. He was begging for a contract–any contract-- and then he’s running things.
Also… poor geek.
I honestly thought they’d do something like jail rape and have him bite the head off…a cock.

I keep hearing a cross between northern (Minnesota, Canada, etc.) and John Travolta from Hairspary (Baltimore wanna-be).

Just watched Ep 2, and I’ve come to a theory. I bet Twisty is going to pull off his mask and be an upright citizen (like John Wayne Gacy, who also dressed as a clown). I bet the season’s conflict will be Twisty and Dandy versus the circus.

At the end of Ep. 1, Twisty watches the circus folks. I expected him to join in, but in Ep. 2, he doesn’t. That’s because he doesn’t think of himself as one of them. What do you think?

We got a quick glimpse of his face in this latest episode when the girl hits him with the piece of wood. It’s quite gruesome.

Saw the first episode last night. Between JL and KB butchering whatever accents they are phoning in and the idiotic stabby the clown – I just don’t think I’ll bother with watching much more of this season.

Is this, uh… him?: http://downrightcreepy.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/american-horror-story-freak-show-clown.png

Is Baz Luhrmann ghost-directing the show this year? (The anachronistic musical numbers remind me of his movies.)

Isn’t that the same clown?

yes and yes… that is the clown from the show.

Hmm. Trying to find somebody to root for this season.

I’m gonna go out on a limb & pull for the kids in the cage.

So to clear up any questions about the accent, Kathy Bates’ character said she was from Baltimore in tonight’s episode.

She sounds exactly like one of the characters on The Wire. (One of the cops.)

I did like the touch of throwing chicken heads on the geek’s casket. But I don’t remember anything about how he died.

This is AHS. You’ll probably learn they’re demon possessed pod people.

Salmonella.
And prison murder.

Twisty don’t play that…

If you mean kidnapping Penny the Candystriper, the kidnapping was to get Elsa the uniform and access to Dot and Bette in the hospital. The freak orgy was some combination of letting the freaks get their rocks off and to have leverage to make sure Penny never talks. Dot and Bette are murder suspects that the freak show is harboring.

Havent seen last nites yet - but Penny wasn’t kidnapped - she was lured in by Elsa at the beginning. Remember, Penny was only there at the hospital to avoid reform school, so was already a bit of a wild child - she just got ‘more then she expected’ and claims to want out - but her addiction to opium and some cleverly edited tapes keeps her trapped.
