Will SD ever add a "Like" Button?

WINNING!!!? hmm.

Well designed things that serve their purpose often persist unchanged for decades. Often their greatest threat is from fashion junkies who think that everything must change to conform to the latest fad (or “taste”), or from people who think all change is “progress”.

Wow, I’m beginning to doubt the veracity of that IQ poll.

I’ll note that some time ago TPTB said NO! to editing your own posts.

Once a year isn’t being too obstreperous.

+1

It’s not obstreperous so much as it’s plain old dense. If Jinx acknowledged he’d asked the question before and made some new argument for adding a Like button, that’d be different. Since he never participates in the threads himself, I wouldn’t be surprised if he just keeps forgetting he’s already asked.

This is true, I was making a pretty extreme argument - that I was using peoples’ lifetimes was no mistake. For a more recent example of things dying out, take a look at something like the order of Odd Fellows. Very few would ever join such a thing so it just dies out, but it takes decades to do so as few of the more hardcore members want to leave either.

Maybe he’s just forgetful  I wanted to create a thread today which had I been on my laptop I would have created it immediately. As it was I was a few hours away and during that time I remebered I actually made it before. That can’t be unusual!

(In fact I’m just going to bump that thread with an idea I had)

Fair point.

Maybe he’s got that disease in the film Memento.

Perhaps then he could try tattooing the answer on his body.

Like button?

How about a LOL button? or Troll button? Or a Make Me a Sammich button?

I could get behind a “Bring Pie” button.

QFT.

Do you really think I’m going back to look at zombie posts from 12 years ago?

No like-y. :expressionless_face:

Looks like the seagull necromancer got magicked off to the cornfield.

I didn’t even bother to cornfield, just deleted them as a a spammer. Their sole purpose was to bounce around and spam the board as fast as possible on their hobbyhorse.

And all the bumped threads from them that I saw (except one, maybe) were about adding a like button.

And I love that, when she moved us here, removing the like button was considered important.

She did a lot for us.

You know if you want to “Like” a post, reply and say something like “Yeah, I agree- great post!” Doesnt take much time.

I am trying to do that more.

Y’know what I “LIKE”?

That my only social media is a board where no one posts opinions for the “likes”.
I don’t care if you “like” my facts! Or my Workplace Rant or my Trump Dumpster Fire of the Week… if all you have to say is “Thumbs up, buddy boy, from a random stranger”, I don’t need it.
