…I’ve got a list of people I know that I really really should hate but I can’t because they are so awesome. Will Smith is on that list. He can sing. He can dance. He acts in major Hollywood movies. He produces. He is happily married to a beautiful wife and he has talented kids. He’s rich. And damn it all, seems to be a genuinely nice guy.
Justin Timberlake. Never liked any of his music, and of the two movies I’ve seen him in, I hated him in one of them. Young, rich, insanely popular - but he’s funny and doesn’t seem to take himself seriously all the time. When he hosts Saturday Night Live, it’s usually a good episode.
It goes without saying that Graham Norton has the best chat show on the planet. It’s just so simple - get the guests on the sofa at the same time, and if you can let them have a good go on the wine beforehand…
My wife and I are avid Norton show watchers. I bet Craig Ferguson wishes he could run his show this way. Get everybody out there, let them sit together and listen to everyone else for 45 minutes, and have fun.
I never would have thought he could be so charming and funny, and I’m hesitant to use the word, but I found him totally ADORABLE.
Watch the body language in this clip - Will.i.am starts off crossing his legs and facing away from Miriam Margolyes, but by the end they’re touching each other and he’s resting his head on her shoulder.
Their exchange about the photo with Prince William is hilarious.
Graham Norton can do no wrong, imo. I think it’s because he comes off as a lovable guy himself.
I love Graham Norton’s chat show. His opening bit involves making jokes about various celebrities and showing embarrassing photos of them, but as an American, I don’t always get the joke or recognize the celebrity. I think he used to have shows on Channel 4 and then BBC Two and I heard that the show was tamed down when they moved it to BBC One.
