Will the Republicans Cut Trump Loose After a While?

While I was originally holding back, because I wanted to see how the election would go. But now it seems all but inevitable Donald Trump will be our next president.

And I have to tell you all, believe it or not, all my predictions about him have been correct up until now. Early on this year, I had a premonition that the Republican would win the White House, and I was right. I also had a hunch Mr. Trump would not concede victory so easily, even if he lost–and this was before he even said that himself.

So now I want to throw a new prediction out there for you all: the Republicans dump Mr. Trump, even after a while.

Consider the Watergate scandal. Most people (myself included) are too young to remember it. But as I understand it, actually a lot of Republicans were on board with President Nixon’s impeachment and removal from office.

And now I have an even wilder forecast for you all: I think Mike Pence and the Republicans are already in secret talks to remove Mr. Trump from office! Hey, I have had an intuitive insight into the election up until now. And believe it or not, I think I am right about this too.

Not that that is really all that good of a thing. Actually, as a gay American, I rather favor Donald Trump over President Pence (which is what we will then get). Mr. Trump is actually very much in favor of LGBT rights. He may even be secretly pro-choice too. Mike Pence, by contrast, has an abysmal record when it comes to gay rights.

Who doubts what I say? Why? And could I indeed be right? I await your discussion:).

Not over yet.

But for now, I think it’s not too early to discuss, because I’ve sort of been wondering the same thing.

I actually think it’s more likely than for any other president in history (not that I think it will or is likely to happen; I mean what I wrote). If it does, and Pence becomes president, it will still suck for a lot of people, but I think it’d be at least a little better, since we won’t have to worry about him launching nukes. (And honestly, most people expect him to be de facto president regardless.)

It really depends on how much the Tea Party REALLY agrees with him, and how much Trump can actually get done. There are no more excuses for him, and his voters are expecting a lot, and fast.
