I’m still hoping he’ll be on a plane to a country without an extradition treaty with the US. Like Somalia maybe.
I said Pence would attend but no way Trump would. Do I win a prize?
Congratulations: you are the winner of one internet point. Here you go:
Don’t spend it all in one place.
Can I trade it in for a trip to Hawaii?
It fell a little flat. I guess I needed more IPs.
Biden said Trump’s decision not to attend was “one of the few things he and I have ever agreed on.”
I’m standing by a prediction I’ve previously made. Trump will hold a competing rally at the same time as the inauguration. Biden will limit the number of people at the inauguration because of Covid. Trump will ignore Covid and have a large crowd. Trump will then say that his rally got more people than Biden’s inauguration so that proves that more people support him than Biden and he really won the election. He will officially announce he will be running for President in 2024.
I don’t think he has the personal staff left to set something like that up. He can’t use federal employees and the campaign volunteers have all gone home.
So I saw a thing saying that by issuing the statement that Trump wouldn’t be at the inauguration was letting the ‘Trump militia’ know it was safe to target the event.
As long as he starts it before noon, it will still be a Presidential event.
Attack Joe Biden and make Kamala Harris President? That’s going to be a hard sell at the bunker.
I wish! I would like nothing more than for him to be really out of our hair, without a huge political fight over his crimes bogging us dow, but without the US “ignoring” his crimes.
I am worried he’s still planning a coup, though.
Or take them both out, and installing himself. Yeah, I’m paranoid.
What we saw this week is that Trump has no legal path to becoming President (barring getting elected in some future year). It doesn’t matter how many people are theoretically killed on January 20; Trump is not in the line of succession.
If we set aside the law and install a new President based on who has the most popular support, Trump’s nowhere near the top of that list either. I think it would be a toss-up between Barack Obama and Tom Hanks.
Can we have Oprah, please? Then we will all check under our couch and find keys to a new car. Unite the nation!
Trump no longer has the Twitter megaphone platform by which to rile the masses. He could rant on Parler perhaps but that won’t have nearly the audience he had on Twitter. If a demagogue shrieks in the wilderness and nobody hardly anybody is there to hear him, does he make any noise?
It’ll have even less of an audience now that Apple and Google have removed Parler from their app stores. The regular web portal survives, but the frictionless experience of an app does drive usage.
Barack in ineligible, having already served two terms. My money’s on Michelle.
However, in an emergency, Tom Hanks could land AF1.

He’s ineligible to be President. He can still be King.
I did say this was what could happen if we set aside the law.
