Will Trump fire Mueller?

Every briefing he ever got went in one ear and, meeting no resistance, went out the other. But to be safe we should put him in solitary.

Well, there are probably a few empty cells at Guantanamo these days. I’m not saying we waterboard him or anything, but it’d be extra-secure.

If you want to predict his behavior, just imagine what a spoiled-brat six year old would do.

I voted yes. Trump is impulsive. He’s angry. We know he really, really wants to do it. I think he’ll keep trying, or maybe convince himself that he can just do it without going through Rosenstein.

This article covers the options. The option I’ve heard discussed most is Option 3 in the article. Use an Executive Order to rescind the 1999 Special Counsel rules, and then just fire Mueller.

I think he’s getting impeached either way this goes. The way where he fires Mueller feels a little too banana republic for me to be comfortable.

I voted No yesterday. Today I signed up for an alert so I get instructions on where to go to join the demonstration if Mueller or Rosenstein get fired. If the firing happens before 2:00, the demonstrations will begin at 5:00 that day. If the firing happens after 2:00, the demonstrations will be at noon the next day. (I assume Eastern time).

Chance of thunderstorms in St. Louis tomorrow. I’ll toss my raincoat in the car before I leave for work.

Trump is guilty as fuck of at the bare minimum decades of financial crime, he can’t NOT fire Mueller. The moment he stops feeling invincible and actually starts thinking they might get him Mueller is gone. The Cohen raid probably put him very near this line.

I went with ‘yes’ because November’s still a long way off. If the poll had been, will Trump fire Mueller by Memorial Day, I’d have said no, less out of certainty than just out of a sense that the odds favor Mueller surviving that long.

Used to be, his lawyers could bullshit him that the investigation was going to wrap up soon. I think that’s out the window.

Cool. Do you mind letting me know where you signed up for that?

This is an investigation that will never be over. There is just too much. Decades of dirty deals. Hopefully, when Mueller etal (State AG’s) have enough to bring Trump to justice they will do so. The sooner the better. But I’m sure it’s difficult. Pulling one thread exposes another, and another and another…

The investigation then can continue to clean up the rest of the mess that will be his legacy. I dearly hope that the result will clean out the GOP and force them to think about the country instead of themselves.

A group of BIPARTISAN senators?

Where the hell did this guy learn to write?

Try a BIPARTISAN group of senators, sunshine.

PM sent.

If the mods allow, I’ll post the link here. Just wasn’t sure if that was OK

Trump looks bad, as in physically bad. Not that he started out in great shape, but I think the latest shenanigans are taking a toll.

Is there any chance he’ll just quit? I’m torn between wanting him gone and my fear of Mike “Sam the Eagle” Pence. Pence is a scary fuck.

I think if he could fire him, he’d already have been fired. So, no.

I think that he would have fired him by now. It seems that the senators may be starting to fear that, however.

As for Pence, he’s been walking around looking dignified, he is probably dreaming of replacing Trump. Would that be good? It would be unpleasant for a while, he’d be implementing as much as his ultra-“Christian” agenda as he could. On the somewhat brighter side, he has more knowledge of how things work than Trump, and he’d be less likely to start WW-III because his thin skin has a booboo that day.

I disagree with Pence on probably 95% of the issues, but he is at least (a) a grownup, (b) with political experience, © who doesn’t tweet. So I think it would very much be a change for the better.

Are you kidding? He can’t keep track of his own lies let alone the truth. (There’s also the issue of how much has been withheld from him because of who he is.)

A new ABC/Washington Post pollreports that 69% of respondents want Mueller’s investigation into Trump collusion with Russia continued.

An ABC analyst said an interesting thing on my morning drive time radio station, though. He said that the poll’s respondents also weren’t overwhelmingly bothered by the nature of Donald’s transgressions as much as they simply wanted to know the truth. I guess I get that about his past sexual dalliances but why aren’t people more worried about his financial dealings with the Russian kleptocracy, the possibility that he sold influence for help with the election, his continuing emoluments violations and his blatant obstruction of justice re: Comey and Mueller?

Also, how much power would he have under the circumstances? Who would listen to him? Who would be afraid to lose his coattails?

Would you rather have a President with execrable positions who IS capable of acting on them? As long as Trump is contained, we might be better off with him than Pence.
