I’m sure he will if he ever gets to that point.
He’s not running against Trump right now.
I’m sure he will if he ever gets to that point.
He’s not running against Trump right now.
Well, he sorta is.
I believe he has declared that he will support the dem nominee equally strongly, whether he he is the nominee or not.
Define melt down? Because under my definition he basically melts down constantly. It’s just that his supporters are either single issue voters on tax cuts and/or are Fox News zombies.
He’d probably have to scream the N-word and for Obama to be lynched or all non-whites to killed in camps or a video of him fucking Ivanka to be released to actually tank his support.
But he wants to be president. He isn’t spending millions of his own money to help other candidates. He’s running against the Democrats right now.
What I mean by that is he’s trying to get the support of those who are already against Trump. Negative ads against Trump will be a waste of money at this point in the campaign. Those come later after the nomination.
I worked in the financial markets for almost two decades and I never heard anyone say “there is no breaking point” about a bubble. Just the opposite – guessing when it would burst was everyone’s favorite topic.
But I’m not sure you can compare Trump’s popularity/influence/ability-to-maintain-status to a financial bubble. If his base won’t “sell” faced with evidence that he’s a corrupt, pussy-grabbing, incompetent and almost certainly treasonous sleazebag, what’s it gonna take?
I’m not saying he can’t be defeated, just that he’s not going to do it for us.
If he believed that fucking Ivanka would help him get re-elected, it’s within his rights as President because it’s for the good of the country. Right, Mr. Dershowitz?
IANA financial analyst. But bubbles are well defined. Of course smarties in the industry have some perspective. So I suppose they all cleaned up and own the world now? They are playing too. And they get caught like everyone else.
I’m not seeing finance and politics as such different bubbles.
It’s very strange to say that since you never heard anyone say a bubble was “not going to end”, (hard to feature that) then this cannot be a bubble because **you **are saying it will never end.
Someone saying something will never end is the very definition of a bubble in any human endeavor.
How would any of those things hurt him with his base?
Actually, some people (not me, haha) made billions when the markets crashed in 2008. Ever see The Big Short?
But you’re right, here I am saying all bubbles break, but Trump’s won’t. Maybe I’m wrong. I hope I am – believe me, I’d love to see it explode. I’d love to see him hoisted onto a metaphorical meathook by the people he’s defrauded the last five years.
Still, I wouldn’t bet on it happening in the next 9 months. We sure can’t count on it.
What **ChockFullofHeadyGoodness **said - these aren’t things that would tank his base support. They may be outrageous things, but they’re outrageous for their side.
The only thing that would make Trump’s base turn on him is if he became liberal. Then they’d instantly demand impeachment and replacement by Pence.
Something I’ve noticed is that anytime Trump begins to ride high in the polls, he gets confident and starts unraveling. This week was his post-acquittal unraveling, and I think the two immediate consequences are that Barr dropped the case against McCabe and Trump apparently won’t investigate Vindman, either.
Particularly in the case of Vindman, it was the smart move to let him go quietly into the night. Whereas McCabe has come out in public and sought attention, thereby making himself less of a victim in the eyes of Trump’s supporters, Vindman really comes across as a nerdy wonk who just wants to do his job and doesn’t seem like he’s comfortable in any kind of spotlight. He’s not your usual “attack the deep state” fodder.
Trump and Barr will probably turn down the volume for a while, but I suspect that they’ll go after their enemies in the future. And they absolutely will if he gets re-elected. If Trump wins this year, he will be able to remake the government in his image.
Well, he did get put this one out yesterday
I rather liked “Carnival Barking Dog”
And when someone mentioned the Presidential race between two billionaires, he said “Who’s the other one?”
It seems like he mostly only tweets in response though.
Honestly, I can imagine the President dying at any moment, given his age and apparent health problems.
Thinking the same thing. His heart could explode in a grand collision of the KFC and the Big Macs.
I agree, I feel like Trump is the kind of guy who thinks he knows himself better than any doctor possibly could. So the doctor might tell him he’s pre-diabetic and he’d better lay off the hamberders and Trump will eat more of them just to prove the doctor wrong. But in the end, blood sugar doesn’t give a shit about politics or one’s own over-inflated opinion of self.
Sometimes, late at night, I go all Marianne Williamson on this and try to visualize that vulnerable heart straining to pump all that greasy blood through that obese bloated body, then seizing up in its last paroxysms, unable to take it anymore. Manifestation, you know. Hasn’t work yet but it beats counting sheep.
That’s all wishful thinking. An admiral said he is a svelte 239 pounds and his old doctor said all his tests were positive and that he is in the best health of any president in history.
His old doctor also said that he’s two inches taller than he actually is (coincidentally, exactly the height that was needed to put his BMI just barely into the not-overweight range).
Other than his size if I had to pick who looks healthier between Trump, Bernie and Biden I would have to go with Trump. Bernie is looking pretty good for someone who recently had a heart attack. Biden… I don’t even want to write what I’m thinking.
