Wait! This isn’t the same Ohio State which allowed their wrestling coach to perv on his athletes for 20-odd years, ignoring complaints and spending 30 years trying to silence their voices, is it? The same Ohio State wrestling team that US Representative Jim Jordan is accused of abetting… and even voyuering… this behavior?
Gosh, it’s almost like there is a system-wide problem there and not one confined to a specific coach!
all these top 10 FB schools are the same. The coach is only fired for losing. Anything else goes including covering up child rape , ask Penn State. Yes, Paterno got fired but it was about 20 years after the facts were known.
Also Maryland president and AD have a 2 PM press conference today. They normally don’t have a PC to say everything is OK. That FB coach might miss a few games but most likely he’s axed.
Maryland did what almost nobody ever does these days, which is admit fault and accept whatever consequences may come. I don’t know the details in the death of the player, just that it was related to heat. But not sure if the coach was really negligent or if it was just a freak thing that happened.
Probably release the report right before labor day weekend in 2 weeks , a holiday weekend is when a lot of news is released when you hope people don’t notice it.
That has rapidly turned into one of the uglier marital break-ups in recent memory. And I’d thought the wife being slammed by both her mother-in-law and mom was a new low.
*O.S.U. fans probably would forgive Zach Smith ordering sex toys to be delivered to his office on campus, unless they were imprinted with a UM logo.
It’s almost worth buying the Sunday Columbus Dispatch just to read the letters to the sports editor on the Urban Meyer mess.
Today’s missives were almost entirely about how unfair the media and world are being to poor Urban. Yeah, he lied…but it was only to the media! And how are we supposed to get excited about the assistant coach’s behavior towards his wife, when no criminal charges have been filed?
Guess the fans are finding it easy to, um, overlook O.S.U.'s “core values”.
They won’t do time served unless they want to get mocked, it will be 2 or 3 game suspension. Funny that law firm spent $500k in just 2 weeks on this but I guess they figured why not gouge the state?
If they go that route it had better be for 2 games (as far as the rabid fan base is concerned), otherwise Urban won’t be around for the TCU game, which might be something of a challenge.
