Will we ever see a Doperism become part of the popular culture?

Oh, you might be able to recruit Iain Banks, author of “The Wasp Factory” to that cause.

Of course, he may have simply been greeting a friend named Opal in the audience.

Okay. I’ll bite. Whence “Once in 1960…” and “penis ensues”?

Second post.

Just great. We have a famous doper, a musician no less, and it turns out he’s really lame.

I myself use “gotchya ya” and “I burning your dog*” IRL and several of my co-workes have picked up both, so the potential is there.

*this one actually comes in handy surprisingly often. I don’t know if that says more about me or my co-workers

Probably the two most likely to make it out to IRL on a widespread basis would be “I, for one, will welcom our new ______ overlords”, which I’m not sure really counts as a Doperism because of its origins as a Simpsons reference, and, “When come back, bring ______”.

As you said, the overlords thing comes from The Simpson’s so why on Earth woudl that count?

“When come back, bring pie” is from a web animation that did not originate here.
