My Windows 8.1 laptop computer won’t boot with my recover disk. How can I make the computer see that disk first?
As soon as you turn the computer on start hitting F12. That should eventually give you a screen that will allow you to pick the CD as a boot device. Since Windows 8 works so hard to make sure that you cannot do anything with it, you will probably have to do it several times until it chooses to work as it is supposed to. Or you can wait for Micro$oft to release Win 9 to completely trash your computer. Win 9 should be more of the forcing of Beta software onto the public.
I finally got the disk to work by going to an HP icon which started my restore by activating my cd.
