Win98 tech question

I am using IE5 and Win98. When I bring up my start page ( my ISP page) they present three search engines. Looksmart and altavista and one other. When you double click inside any of the three search box windows you get a display (history) of the last 10 or 15 search topics that you searched for. My question is how do you CLEAR these search boxes’s histories? I know it must be a win98 feature. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It’s an IE thing. To disable it go to Internet Options under the Tools menu. Go to the Content tab. Click the AutoComplete button. Then uncheck the check box marked forms. Let me know if this solves the problem.

Also, you might try this:
Right click a blank area on the taskbar and select properties.
On the “start menu programs” tab, click “clear” under the documents menu.
This will clear most of your recent whatever lists.

Proof once more that the SD’s are the smartest of all message board people!

But Water why the hell would IE people put it under forms?? Why not put it where people could find it under histories or something?? Sheess

Hey thanks alot!

In web parlance, these sort of fill-in boxes like the one I’m typing this in are called forms. As in real life, forms are things you fill out.
