Window XP Font Removal

I would like to remove some fonts from Windows XP. How do I go about doing this, and are there any fonts required by the OS (I suppose I shoudn’t remove those if they do exist)? Which are they? Thanks.

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Fonts > Right click on desired font to delete, and select delete.

As far as what is required, don’t know.

Don’t mess with MS Serif, MS Sans Serif, Symbol, Small Fonts.

If you’re unsure, copy the font file to another folder before deleting it. If menus or icon titles get ugly, you’ll know you killed something you shouldn’t have.

Thanks very much.

You have me intrigued though. Why would you want to remove any fonts?

      • Perhaps it’s not his computer?

Because a lot of the fonts are duplicates (or so it seems), and many are just pointless (the icon ones). I frequently shift through my fonts in my art program to find one which matches the style I’m trying to achieve, and having 50+ useless fonts slows down the process.

      • Or you could get a font manager program, and only install special fonts long enough to use them…
