XP Font Size

I’m trying to set my fonts bigger so I can use a desktop resolution of 1600 x 1200. I’ve gone to the appearance/advanced tab and increased the font sizes for the items in the dropdown box. I’ve also changed the DPI setting. Still, there is at least one font that I cannot find the setting for. It is used on dialog boxes and the message list in outlook. A good example would be the deletion confirmation when emptying the trash. This font is very small and I’d like to increase it’s size. Any help appreciated.

I believe that this font will be found to be MS Shell Dlg - I had strange things happening with fonts the wrong sizes for their buttons when I first set up XP; the relevant settings are in the registry ( HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes ), but I can’t remember exactly what I changed and how.

Usual disclaimers apply back up your registry first etc…

Go back into Appearance/Advanced and try clicking on the example dialog box in the little picture (mine says “Message Text” in it). This selects the appropriate option in the dropdown menu. See if changing that particular font size does anything, if it’s not changed already.
