Windows Installer @ Every Startup

I recently had to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and software for my hp psc 2110V. Everything worked out pretty well except that now everytime I boot up the Windows Installer pops up, does it’s thing and then goes away. Why does it do this and how do I get rid of it? I’ve looked at HP.com and nothing matches for that product. Thanks in advance!

Some MSI application is partially installed - but not correctly, and obviously cannot be installed correctly. Every time you start the PC, it attempts to self-repair, and then fails.

Look in the event log for MSI events related to startup. Once you have found out what the MSI is, you can uninstall it (the MSIs are stored in C:\Windows\Installer)

Be careful with the files in C:\Windows\Installer (best to stay away from them) or you will run the risk of making it impossible to uninstall or repair some or all of your applications.

As suggested, look at the Event Viewer (My Computer:Manage) to determine which product is failing, then uninstall it from the Add/Remove control panel & reinstall.

That will fix the most common problems, but others may requre adjustments to file/registry access permissions or a call to a support line for the product.
