Windshield Lady Goes on Trial!

I didn’t know she stopped on the way home to try and get him out of the windshield!

Jeez, lady, how the hell do you walk around with no brain or heart?

[hijack to rant]

Why do people say things like this? Yes, EVERYONE who lives in Texas is a murder-condoning doofus, so by God STAY OUT OF TEXAS!

If we were all murder-condoning doofuses (doofi?) the bitch wouldn’t even be on trial.

In fact, the murder charge ONLY came AFTER the PEOPLE OF THE GREAT STATE OF TEXAS demanded it of the DA!

[/hijack to rant]

No kidding, and by doing so made his injuries worse! I also didn’t know she passed a fire station and police department on the way home – Christ!

Lovely.

Oh, and I agree-life in prison, but not death penalty.

Hear, hear, lorinada! Comments like that are very rude to those of us who try to live our lives peacefully and honestly. I’d never say I wasn’t visiting a state based on the actions of a single person.

While I was in the office yesterday I kept looking out the window to see if I could see anything, since our building is right next to the courthouse and the jail, and my office faces them, but all I saw were a bunch of news vans.

Ahh, I tried to convey that sentiment, last night I believe. Texas rocks.
I listened as she answered the prosecuting attorney’s questions on the way home from work today.
She basically fried herself. “Yes, I faked drug tests to get jobs while I was smoking pot. Yes, I was high that night. Yes, I knew how to drive home after hitting him. But (sob) I just didn’t know what to do!”

Guilty – 50 years.

Sounds good to me.

Only thing is, Texas also was home to the Zamora/Graham murder case. They only got 40 years, but I think what they did was definitely worse. They lured their victim into a car, with the intent of killing her. So either they should have gotten more time in prison, or the Windhield Woman should have gotten less.

Did anybody catch her “tearful” apology? Hell, Shatner woulda been more believable.

I saw it, and I was offended by it. She deliberately let another human being suffer and die because drugs were a higher priority. I hope the remorse she claims is genuine. I’ll believe it when she’s been clean and sober for at least a year.

CJ

plus 10 years for tampering with evidence.

What she did was sick. She’s not sorry she killed a man, she’s sorry she got caught!!

And another 10 years for tampering with evidence (burning the car seat). Has anyone heard whether that’s consecutive or concurrent? I’m in Dallas and was listening to verdict live as I drove home today.
She’s eligible for parole in 25 or 30 years.

Ironically enough, this probably saved her life. The way she was heading, she’d have been dead of a drug overdose or a car accident within a year. Now, she’ll get cleaned out and have access to healthcare and education!

Ain’t that the truth. According to her testimony, she was smoking pot on a regular basis - on her way to work in the health care industry. And now, we get to foot the bill for 25+ years in prison. I’d like to think she won’t get the opportunity to smoke pot while she’s there, but I know better. Justice with flaws.

How tragic for that poor man to die that way while that stupid wench did absolutely nothing to aleviate his suffering. What a horrible ending for him.

So shouldn’t the confession have been throw out of court because the defendant was read her * Miranda rights *? Like you weren’t thinking that?

At least this heartless bitch won’t be drinking, drugging and then driving for at least 30 years!

They should hang a large picture of the victim in her jail cell.

No, no, no, no, no.

The death penalty exists to give people something to be afraid of, to stop them from committing murders. You may agree or disagree with the practice of the death penalty, but that’s not the issue here.

However, accountability for one’s actions is at an all time low as far as I can tell. It’s disgusting to say that it’s ok to let someone die in your garage because you are afraid that you will die if you are discovered. What about the person DYING IN YOUR GARAGE?!?!??

People need to take responsibility for themselves. I understand that you are stating that you believe she was wrong and should be punished, but I disagree with your reasoning in this post. STRONGLY disagree.

Bra-VO. Thank you, my sentiments exactly. (for some reason this kind of feelings tend to extend to any state that can be labeled southern)

Good rant. Only problem is, the people you’re ranting about might change their minds and come here anyhow, and then we’d have to put up with their incessant whining. Sometimes the ingorance of others actually benefits you.
