Is there any way to get Wing Commander: Privateer to work with newer systems, namely a 1 ghz, 128 mb, Windows ME system? In the past its given me errors about insufficient expanded memory, and about not being able to detect the CD. Has anyone been able to get around these obstacles?
I have the same game and the same problem. My solution is to use an old 486, which you can probably find somewhere for nothing or next to nothing. The worst part is getting your CD configured in DOS, if you don’t have the original install disks. Also, there are some shareware programs that allow you to “cripple” your computer, basically slowing it down so that old games are playablem which will be a problem if you do get Privateer running on your 1ghz. good luck.
