I got an envelope of cards from **blondebear ** today too. One image of Rex Harrison on the set of Dr. Doolittle in 1967, and a set of very cool images of Mesa Verde National Park & San Juan Basin.
It also means that if we are missing some postcards, we don’t know who the deadbeats are! (Or maybe that’s not a bug, its a feature? Me, I like to keep a list…)
Mine went in the post today, but they all have to cross the pond so they may take a while!
**Algher **knows. Algher knows all.
A very odd sidelight of U.S. history: Elvis Meets Nixon - Wikipedia
Got my first card yesterday.
Thank you very much Algher for the card with the gold panners on front and the cool Batman stamps!
I’ve gotten great cards from Teuton in the past. He’s good for them.
I put the cards in the mail today. Sorry to my recipients for being slow. I am sending three cards each though, in a small manila envelope, with a note to go with them!
I got cards! One is from Algher, a really cool picture of a line of VW buses. Another is from Karen Lingel, a painting from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. She wrote about how the place has been remodeled. The third is from DavidA. It’s a splendid aerial photo of Cape Cod. I have not been there, the “hook” of land enclosing the harbor is amazing.
A card from **kittenblue **came in the mail today. Yay! The postcard features a cool collection of Cleveland landmarks like The Rock ‘n’ Roll HOF, The USS Cod, and the Rocket Car. I’ve been to the RNRHOF, but now I need to go back to Cleveland to take a ride in that Rocket Car!
I got a card from kittenblue too! I grew up in Cleveland and still have good friends there, so that was extra cool. Thanks!
I got a card today from romansperson. It’s got a 1936 Peugeot 402 Darl’mat Coupe from an exhibit at the North Carolina Museum of Art.
My dad would have loved to see an exhibit of cars like that.
Got a card yesterday from Lsura, showing the ultramodern World of Coca Cola museum in Atlanta. Thanks!
Two cards have arrived, both from Algher!
One came yesterday, and has a picture of a cool $5 million Californian waterfront property (boat not included), and another today showing an Annual Camel Race in Virginia City
Thanks, Lsura! Beautiful butterflies from Natural History Museum and a gorgeous Atlanta skyscape.
Just got home, waiting for me:
From Karen Lingel: A card showing a shot of the California coastline by Erich Ziller @ www.jeffersonterritory.com
From blondebear: a card from Archie McPhee in Seattle, mcphee.com
Also from blondebear: A souvenir folder and road map Historic Frederic In the Heart of Maryland.
I also got Nixon and Presley from Elendil’s Heir. Always loved how absolutely stoned Elvis looks in that photo.
Alghr sent the End of the Old Plank Road. I had to look that one up. Hard to imagine a wooden road.
Ivy tower Denizen has presented me an anatomy lesson in French.
Thanks, one and all. I sent mine out Monday. I hope someone’s got one by now. Sending out a couple more for grins.
From silenus: a beautiful Idyllwild postcard. It looks lovely! Thank you.
A card arrived today from davida03801 of the Nubble Light House at York Beach, Maine. I love that the card might be a US one, but printing was done in Italy!
Two more cards today: a big bull moose from DavidA and a 2-in-1 bookmark/postcard of Crater Lake from a mystery person, I’m going to guess Helena330.
Thank you for the bonus postcards!
I was a bad kitty this round and only got the cards off today. They are cute cards and I hope worth the wait.
The universe has punished me with terrible guilt as I came home to a befuddled boyfriend wondering about two strange postcards that arrived today.
One from Algher and another from Romansperson.
