I’ve been doing these threads for years, and they’ve been less and less popular over time mostly because Steam sales are getting worse, but this is the time of year people buy the most games so I figured it’d be good to have a discussion for questions and recommendations.
Steam’s winter sale started today. There’s some sort of event where you can win emojis and profile pictures and stuff and a $5 coupon, but I didn’t look very closely at it.
Uplay - it says you can get an extra 20% off by using code EXTRA20.
Humble isn’t having a sale (yet?), but you might be interested that they changed up their subscription model. They’ve got several tiers of subscription and you see the games up front rather than it mostly being a surprise. That sub is one of the best values in gaming (and also gives you a 20% discount on their store on top of any other discount).
Epic store is having a sale, but I’m not going to link it because I strongly recommend against giving them money because their business practices are toxic. What I will recommend is grabbing the free games they’re offering, one a day for the next 12 days. Today is Into The Breach, from the creators of FTL.
Origin isn’t having a sale but usually does, I’m not sure if they already had it or it’s coming up.
Fanatical, mostly specializing in low cost bundles for obscure games, but they have the best prices on a few things.

Feel free to make or ask for recommendations, add any sales you find, discuss what games are good this year, whatever you’d like.
