Has anyone happened to come across a good wireless landline headset? Similar concept to the bluetooth headsets for cellular phones that are all the rage now but what I want is one for the home. There seem to be lots of products on the market for office phones with pbx’s but for some reason I can’t google any decent solution for the home. I’m willing to pay up to $750 US.
I know this isn’t quite what you’re looking for, but my cordless phone has a headset jack that would accomplish the same thing.
I just had a look over at Plantronics, and it’s probably cheaper to get a new cordless phone that has a headset jack as Joey P suggests. The office-style wireless sets start at $300.
I just saw how you’re willing to pay a lot - you might want to check with Plantronics to see if any of their wireless headsets are usable on home phones. I can’t really imagine they couldn’t - the audio signals involved are fairly standard. Some of them come with or can be used with “lifters” that pick up and replace the receiver on a phone via remote control by the headset.
Plan B: scour craigslist or eBay for a cheap phone system. Not long ago, someone in this area had a Merlin 410 (4 lines x 10 phones) system that they were simply giving away. In addition to the Plantronics headsets, there are wireless Merlin phones.
