Wireless remote control for an EXISTING home subwoofer? Suggestions?

Short version: I’ve got a couple existing subwoofers that do not have any remote control capability. They are fed from the LFE output (line level) of my receiver. I would like to adjust their level from across the room when they are in use. I’m looking for a way to do this at a reasonable cost.

Please don’t suggest I buy new subwoofers that have this feature. That’s not going to happen.

The best I can come up with is to use a completely separate stereo receiver (I have several) and run the LFE output from my current receiver through it, using the remote control for that receiver to adjust the levels on the subwoofers. This sounded like a win-win, BUT the other receivers I have at hand are the same brand, so using either remote control would affect BOTH receivers.

I’m sort of stumped. I’m just trying to adjust a line-level signal from across the room. (Unfortunately, It would be quite difficult for me to run a cable from one side to the other, so that’s out.) I can change their level at the receiver by going into the setup programming, but that’s a PITA.

Suggestions? Comments? I expect to have to buy something, but I’d like it to be less than $100, if possible.

Here’s a Remote Volume Control. It’s stereo, but you don’t have to use both channels.

I have one of these and it works great.

That’s pretty much EXACTLY what I had in mind. I had seen the IR-controlled motorized volume control kits on eBay, but I would need to buy a case, power supply, connectors, stand-offs, etc., and assemble it myself.

Does this unit introduce any noise at all?

Nope. It’s very clean.

Great! I just ordered one. Thanks again!
