Well I was hoping the computer would land on a few lolcats. Grrrz0rz.

But isn’t it a little bit funny that the lolcats are (mostly) there to make fun of the horrible spellings, and the people who use them? And there is not much we can all do about the nasty-spelling people, apart from laugh.
Not every LOLcat is a gem of humour, but given the right caption and the right absurd kitty picture–I right-click-and-save for future chuckles. And I’m a dog person, too. Paws up on LOLcats for now.

Aren’t we supposed to imagine that the cats are responsible for composing the captions? I thought that the crazy grammar and misspelling mistakes were due to the cats’ poor grasp of keyboarding and the English language. You know, 'cause they’re cats.
(If so, I find them hilarious. If the object of lolcats is to test my understanding of leetspeak- they stink. And I like cats.)
I confess I am a fan. I enjoy them in all their permutations, particularly lolruses and of course lolpresidents

Oh, I love them. I find it a little odd, in fact, because even though I like cute pictures of cats, jokes about bad spelling and bad grammar usually leave me cold. It’s the kind of thing where I keep thinking I will hit the point of overexposure to the lolcats and not find them so funny anymore, but every time I think I am getting close, a new one is added that just slays me. Laugh out loud funny, for real.
The other weird thing I’ve noticed about my love for lolcats is that I’m terrible at making them up myself. How hard can it be, right? We have some pictures of our cat that seem like they could lend themselves to captioning (for private consumption only – don’t worry, I’m not about to lolcatbomb MPSIMS) but I can never come up with anything.

I like them. The recent physics one was quite cute. And indeed they are difficult to make up oneself.

Thanks to this thread, I finally “get” that cartoon. I’ve been reading XKCD for a while, but that one went right over my head. Until now.

Of course, you know that admitting an XKCD comic went over your head is the ultimate shame! (not really, I know there are a few that I am completely lost on, but that’s ok, I try hard)
Also, I interpreted the pictures as having errors due to kitty’s inability to type. I figure if it came for any other reason, I’d not laugh as much, but I like the image of a little cat sitting at his computer, captioning things for his website. It’s weird because I can’t stand cats usually…

I love it because it puts cats in vaguely human situations (well duh).
I found a few pictures way before I found the site.
One had a cat inside a PC tower looking inquisitively into one of the drive bays. The caption reads: “Don’t worry, I’m from tech support”
Another similar one reads “I upgraded your RAM”
and there’s a picture of a cat standing on it’s hind legs looking rather sad and pathetic. Caption is.
“I baked you a cookie, but I eated it”
They’re stupid, but I can’t help being amused by them. I like the I has a hat sort much more than the ‘i is in ur [whatever]…’
I love them. Sure, some are lame, but many are hilarious. My all-time favorite is “I made you a cookie, but I eated it.”
Ceiling Cat and “Jesus Christ it’s a lion! Get in the car!” are close seconds.
I can’t help loving them, man. There’s a lot of dumb ones, but then there’ll be one that’s just freaking hilarious. Sometimes they’re just really clever or have great comic timing, but I can’t explain at all what I love aboutthis guy - he just cracks me up every time.
For some reason I imagine the cat is a communist russian cat.
