WKRP question

Any WKRP fans?

The episode is “Nothing to Fear” (either episode 66 or episode 20 of season 3) in which everyone is scared after the station is robbed. There is a one time bit-part character, “Stella, the coatcheck girl” who Andy winds up making out with in Art’s office. Stella is credited as an actress named Kelly Greer. I’d swear she’s really Jan Smithers (Bailey Quarters). I’ve Googled Kelly Greer, and can’t find anything. My wife says I’m crazy. Does anyone know who the actress really is?

IMDB says she was also a bit player in a movie called Force: Five, a schlocky kung fu movie from 1981. There’s no bio info tho, so I’d guess she got smart and got out of the business.

I saw that, but having never seen Force Five, all I still think that Stella is really Jan.

Here’s Jan Smithers (foreground) and Kelly Greer (background) in the same frame at the event.

Sorry about the lousy quality but you get the idea.

Wow, that’s some quality acting from Smithers!

Which is the really surprising part.

Mmmm… Bailey…

Oh yeah…

You guys remember Jennifer right? I barely remember Bailey being there.

Mary Ann or Ginger? Bailey or Jennifer? These are timeless questions.

/Mary Ann & Bailey. No. Bailey & Mary Ann. In that order.
//Jennifer who?

The thing about Jennifer is that she was played as permanently unavailable, with the Herb character lusting after her and perpetually getting shot down. After a time, the message of “you’re not good enough for her, you have no chance, you can keep on trying forever and you’ll get nowhere” sinks in.

Meantime, Bailey’s charms grow on you.

I’m not Herb. She was plenty available for guys like me.

So you’re old and rich, huh?

 Admittedly, I’m at the bottom of the 1%, and not too liquid. Also, my wife could be problematic.

Not really my type. I’m much more attracted to the smart, girl next door type than the big hair, bleach blonde.

Well Jennifer was the smartest person at the station. Not exactly the girl next door though.

Bailey was the hot one on that show.

While my heart belongs to Bailey, rewatching episodes makes me realize that I’d be plenty happy with either without regrets. Bring 'em both on, sez I.

You need a mistress don’t you. Don’t all the guys in the 1% have a mistress while the wife sits at home swilling booze and bitching about her no-good excuse for a husband? But of course she’ll never leave or get a divorce and cut off the gravy train.

OK, maybe it was just the glasses.
