All that means is that she had unprotected sex at least one time in her life. There is no magic organ or hormone or whatever that spontaneously appears in a woman’s body when she gives birth that keeps her (or renders her) sane and all-loving and sin-free.
What kind of person murders her own child?
The kind of person that murders her own child is, well, the kind of person that murders her own child.
Of course, in reference to your thread title, I agree there should be a special place in hell for anyone who abuses or murders children and animals.
That’s a question that I am most unqualified to answer, but it is rather interesting. I’d also ask, “What can we do to prevent this from happening in other situations in the future?”
What penalty do you hope for? Why do you hope for this penalty?
It’s an effective way of getting revenge on someone who angers you. Sick, disgusting, twisted, horrible, but very effective.
Thinking about this, what’s the chance that she didn’t know the salt would kill the kid? Most people don’t think of salt as poisonous, and it’s pretty clear she’s not the brightest bulb on the porch. Maybe she figured she’d just make the baby reject it’s bottle, or puke or something. Which doesn’t make it any better–it’s still abuse, and a pretty weird and sick method of “getting back” at her son.
Frankly, you can’t. There will always be sick people in this world, and in the end, no matter how many laws you pass, or rights you choose to give away in the name of “being safe”, will you ever be able to prevent this sort of tragedy. This is the ugly side of human nature, and it comes right along with the beautiful side. You cannot have one without the other.
I am continually amazed at what people do in the name of anger or revenge.
Does anyone remember the guy in Indianapolis who got mad at his girlfriend and then decided the best vengeance would be to marry her, knock her up, and then murder the baby? Maybe he and Granny can share an apartment in hell.
She’s got a long way to go to catch up with my dad’s mom’s mom, who tried to murder her only daughter with formaldehyde when said paternal grandmother was in her teens (or maybe a bit younger). Didn’t kill her daughter, just required an extensive stay in a different country for a few years while she recuperated. Because the air was more conducive to it, or something. Yeah, and not having a mother around who tried to kill you probably helped a bit, too.
This would be the same one who took great joy in shoving knitting needles up her grandchildren’s … ah … yeah.
Let us hope that this woman doesn’t try to best that.
I suggest you re-read el’s post. If youw ant revenge, that is a very effective method. I would think at about the point she decided to kill her garndaughter she stopped caring about talking to her son a whole lot.
According to the article, the authorities haven’t found this evil person yet - what a horrible story. Every time I think I’ve seen the worst, someone ups the ante.
