Watch = I would expect it
Something along the lines of a class ring = all right
Anything else, especially earrings = urgh
I like jewelry on men, but not too much of it. Wearing five or six necklaces is not a good look for anyone, male or female. Same thing with rings on every finger. Earrings, either singly or a pair, can really look great on a man. However, I don’t like to see piercings other than ear piercings, on men or women. Eyebrow and lip piercings make me wince.
I like jewellery on men. I am ecstatic that my husband has just got into making chain mail and is wearing simple chunky chain necklaces. (Partly because he used to steal mine.)
I’ve always found a simple chain on a main to be quite sexy. A watch? A necessity. A wedding ring? Of course! A simple bracelet? Okay. Pinky rings are definitely OUT and any more bling is too much.
I like jewelry on young (or young-looking) men, but not so much on older guys. I find hemp, shells (ya, frat boys can be hot - from a safe distance) and chunky yet sleek silver and black items like this really hot. But they don’t really work well when you’re into the suit and tie strata of life.
Chains I find off putting at nearly any age, although the figaro ones aren’t too bad. Bling? Never!
Wedding rings are always sexy. I have a thing about hands, so I find rings really alluring. But gemstones have to be chosen very carefully, if at all.
I swear that link worked on preview. Ah, well. Here’s something similar.
I wear my wedding ring and watch on my left hand, and my father’s gold class ring on my right hand. I also wear a very slim sterling silver necklace that my wife gave me for Xmas. All very tasteful and completely “bling-less.”
As others have said, as long as it’s tastefully done. My SO wears a thin platinum chain that has a jade circle on it; he’s Chinese and jade is good luck. His mother gave it to him, and it looks good on him.
I don’t think rings would look particularly good on him, but I think rings look good on some guys. And an earring looks dashing on the right kind of guy. I don’t even like when girls wear too many rings, though, a good rule IMO is one per hand, unless you’re talking engagement & wedding rings.
I do agree with this, though:
When I go to buy a car and the salesman who approaches me has a lot of jewelry on it’s usually a deal breaker for me.
Are they? I see a few pairs of cufflinks just about daily. And no, I’m not a shopgirl stationed behind the cufflink counter at a department store.
I had a nice pair of cufflinks on this weekend. Of course I was wearing a tuxedo, but the cufflinks are mine. I would have had my pocket watch instead of a wrist watch too except the vest I had on had no pockets.
Cufflinks *and * a pocket watch (almost)?
I like you.
I was the best man. I couldn’t go wearing a tuxedo-silk-screened t-shirt, black jeans and Chuck Taylors. Alas, I rarely get the opportunity to wear my pocket watch these days, and the cufflinks only a little more frequently. I think I may need to attend some of those black tie fundraiser affairs, if only to give me the chance to look sophisticated-ed more often.
As long as there’s not too much of it, and it’s not over the top then I think it can look good.
If graverobbers don’t take the jewelry off of the dead, then you’ve got blinged zombies!
mmm, ten year old zombie spam.
