I think the problem is that the combover does work, which is why guys cling to it long after it has stopped working.
Phew! The Female Collective has been waiting with baited breath for you to give your ruling. Now we all know how to proceed.
I should point out that Persis Khambatta cried when she had her beautiful, waist-length hair shaved for ST1. It was not her idea to do it (although she was beautiful enough that she still looked attractive bald).
As far as Natalie Dormer goes, she’s also beautiful enough that her hair style doesn’t make her look completely ridiculous, but it’s still not flattering.
Which side?
Natalie Dormer looks fantastic with the half shaved look, IMHO!
Some women can look great with it all shaved off.
Sorry TonySinclair, I don’t like the half shaved look either, but it was the brain surgeon’s idea. Honest.
I’ve seen the photo. It makes Dormer look terrible. And I get it, women can wear whatever they like, I don’t have authority over them in the matter. But I CAN think it looks stupid. And I do.
Eek! I looked up her picture and it’s not the haircut that might make her look bad… it’s that seemingly (almost every photo I saw) ever-present halfways smirk. And what’s odd is she looked totally cool in the one or two pictures I found where she smiled regularly. Is that her signature or something?
See, that’s the problem with this hair style. The wearer might be going for edgy, but I see it and automatically think “oh, you poor thing. I hope they got the whole tumor.”
Matter of taste I suppose. I love her eyes and her lips and that crooked smile of hers. But she looks a lot better with her hair not half shaved off … which is also a matter of taste. For them as likes it, go nuts! (Hmmm … I wonder if they do the carpet as well as the drapes with that half shaved look? Could be funny!)
She probably isn’t interested in the OP either, so I guess it’s win-win.
I agree. I like her better with the shaved look.
It’s not my cuppa tea either, nor is excessive visible tattooing or piercing, but then they’re not doing it to impress me, other than possibly in a “fuck you, you traditional old fuck” sort of way. As a rebellious thing to do, I think tattoos may be the worst, as there is really no going back in the case of people like the young woman I saw the other day, who had solid garish tats clear up to the top of her neck. I also think the NBA looks like somebody emptied out a prison, but I guess much of that tattooing is just a cultural thing, or maybe something in the NBA world. My son is past the rebellious stage and has extensive tats, including full sleeves. It’s his business what he does to his body, and I have never commented on it, as it has no effect on my life whatsoever. I think he secretly wants to be a Ninja at 40+ years old, however.
Wins the thread.
I donno. The absolutely worst people I know, including some outright monsters, dress normally, have regular hair and don’t have any tats.
I don’t see why the hate for people whose external appearance doesn’t confirm to the 1960s image of white America.
And I don’t see why you’re talking about hate, let alone race.
Gee, if only there were some way to convey that I was just giving a humble opinion.
That’s not bad, but it’s less than half her head shaved. Maybe 49% is the threshold.
Where did that come from?
I think the threshold is being so gorgeous that she could do practically anything to her hair.
I really wonder if the OP would have gotten nearly this much grief if he had said “bee hive hairdos look awful”.
Or fat guys in Speedos.
This place is getting a bit over the top with its accusations of sexism.
