I also doubt if there are accurate stats, SciFiSam. That is partly why I asked Marley if he had any. I mean, who is going to run an accurate survey asking some silly question like “Are you a feminist and if so, do you oppose porn as a male plot to harm, demean and control women?”
When I wrote my OP, I did not get into numbers or percentages anyhow. **Of course **I knew that many modern feminists are aware, as I am, that attacking porn is largely a waste of valuable resources that the feminist movement can deploy elsewhere.
What happened is that fairly far down on the thread, Marley began implying that the anti-porn feminist was essentially an extinct species and that I was fighting a battle that had already been won.
However, even the Wiki article on “Third-wave Feminism” simply says that “many” modern feminists no longer oppose porn, leaving one to assume that many still do. Furthermore, if you read some of the lastest postings, you will see that a number of people with experience in modern feminism say that the “death-to-porn” attitude is still alive and kicking.
I suspect Marley was just looking for a way to disparage the validity of my posting by implying I was attacking a straw man.
