LOL! I know, it’s like the worst possible “Made For TV” product, right?
But realistically, it’s a pair of clippers, with really good guides and they attach to your vacuum cleaner so you don’t have to take a shower and sweep the floor afterward.
What’s not to like? (I think there’s a new thread there . . .)
To Dangerosa - not a shiver for the cut itself, but for how it looked on me. I just shivered again thinking about it!
Don’t you hate how stylists get all wrapped up in the frenzy of what’s “in”? Says who?
Re: Styling. I’m talking short. The longest hair on my head is about 2.5 inches. I don’t think I could reasonably wrap it around a curling iron. If I had it medium short, like chin length, then yes, I’d have to mess with it. Which is why it’s short short.
When I have long hair I wash it at night and sleep on it wet. All I have to do in the morning is put it in a ponytail, braid, or bun. The only product I use is shampoo and conditioner. I get it cut 2-3 times a year to keep if from looking raggedy. With short hair I wake up with bed head. I must shower in the morning and do at least minimal styling or it dries funny. If I really want it to look good I have to use styling gel. And I have to get it cut every 6 weeks. For me short hair is much more high maintenance in terms of both time and money.
Actually, I do find that I often at least need to wet my hair down in the morning, because despite being half an inch long, I still end up with bed-head in the morning.
Damn, you guys are making me want to cut my hair again! I’m trying to grow it out because objectively I know it’s gorgeous and curly, but in reality I effing hate it and would not shed a tear if I woke up tomorrow bald (however, I would probably throw on a bandana and go buy a wig).
It’s even harder because it’s reached that awkward slightly-longer-than-chinlength phase and it looks crappy all the time. Damn it.
I feel your pain. My is wavy with little ringlets at the end if I wear it long enough and just let it dry without messing with it. But growing it out was painful - I got to maybe four inches in the back and couldn’t take it. I want to go from wash-and-go short to wash-and-go long without the must-hairdry middle part.
I’ve had short hair twice in my life, and both times I had more guys who found me attractive than with long or medium length hair.
I don’t know if I was more attractive because of the appearance of short hair itself. Maybe the short haircut made me feel more confident, or during those two times in my life I got the short haircut because I felt so confident. Either way, it’s a ballsy move for a woman to get a short haircut.
My third theory is that even if most guys like long hair on women that the ratio of guys who like long hair to women with long hair may be 1 to 2 (only guessing), and the ratio of men who like women with short hair could be like 2 to 1.
There are guys who prefer short hair on women though most guys probably prefer long hair. The long-hair aficionados may also be more traditional guys so if you like traditional guys you may want to have long hair. Also, if you like nontraditional guys then there is no problem with having short hair.
When I had short hair, I met many people who were vocal on their opinions on it. I had both harsh critics and admirers, but I had to say that many more people told me that they loved it, even strangers on the street would stop me to compliment me.
Actually I really like having short hair, but I only stopped because I got sick of having my hair become the topic of conversation with everyone I met. It’s the main reason.
I love my new pixie style, I just got 2 weeks ago…
I had a bad haircolor job done then & decided to go back natural & cut most of it off to start over (let it grow back healthy again). It was worth it!
Everybody, my friends & acquaintanences, love it! I can’t wait til it gets a little longer & healthier by December so I can get professional caramel highlights put in. It is very easy to maintain.
Also, I find that it looks great with halter style tops & dresses better than medium or long hair does. I have a lot of halter style tops & dresses. They look so much better on me since I cut my hair! It shows off the shoulders, neck, & top part of my back so much better. And my cleavage too shows better!! LOL! It was worth it.
