I’m not sure I like the assumption that only women like the shopping experience. I love shopping for food, clothes, or anything. Yet I am a man by sex and male by gender. I would bye vlothes online, but only from stores I have allready visited and trust, or buying products I allready know.
. . . It’s not only “liking the shopping experience,” it’s . . . well, it can look great on the hanger and ghastly on me. I also pay close attention to fabric (I am a cotton/linen/wool snob) and the workmanship: is it lined? seams finished properly?
Eve’s got another good reason there. I sew, so I know if something’s made properly. If I can do better, I won’t buy it.
I won’t buy just anything on line, but I have my tried-and-true stores.
I’m also a natural fiber freak, except when it comes to Lycra, which I think is heaven sent. I don’t mind a bit of Lycra infused into nearly any fabric. Usually you get fabric content in catalog and on-line descriptions.
I even buy SHOES on line! Almost all my shoes are purchased on line.
I buy all my women’s clothing on-line, too.
And those taupe pumps are exceptional on you, Uncs.
I hate shopping, so yes, I buy clothes online. My favorite is Victoria’s Secret, I have several pairs of pants and sweaters from them.
There are definitely some things I wouldn’t buy online, like a button-up blouse (with my body shape, finding the right size can be difficult), or shoes (I wear 9 narrow, an almost nonexistant size; I need to try them on).
I’ll order some scrubs online once in a while, but only style numbers that I know will fit me. The only street clothes that I consistently buy the same thing over and over are my jeans, and it’s about as cheap, just as easy, and a lot faster to pop into the store on my way somewhere else as it would be to order them.
I don’t shop online much. I will occasionally if I’m familiar with the retailer, but I too prefer to see/try on the clothing before buying.
Seems like many people here do like online shopping, but I imagine this survey is very skewed by the fact that everyone responding is comfortable with using the internet, etc.
Sell them on Ebay.
