Okay, that makes sense. I’ve watched very little Xena–it just never really did it for me–and so I mostly associate it with campy comedy.

Hey, I LOVE Gina Torres, but WW isn’t the role for her.
How do we feel about Denise Richards?
She could be a strong contender.
Lucy Lawless would be hard pressed to make WW different from Xena. I’m not saying she couldn’t do it, but it would be very difficult. In addition, she really doesn’t radiate the physical beauty that WW should. She’s buff, she’s hot, but she’s only nice looking, not a classical beauty.
I love Gina Torres and Lucy Lawless.
But I think a role like this is better suited to an unknown or near-unknown. That’s why Christopher Reeve was a great choice for Superman, and why Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney were such poor choices for Batman.
So, suggest every actress you can think of for the role, and I’ll answer: none of the above.
Except Charlize Theron.
