I just saw episode 6 of Wonderfalls. (A friend sent me a copy. Apparently they got it from somewhere on the Internet.) It’s fabulous. Damn. Damn. Damn. I hope there’s still life left for this show.
Man. I sure hope this is true.

The cynical ones among us think the WB is using Wonderfalls as a smokescreen so people will ignore all the negative publicity around Angel and don’t really intend on picking it up at all.
WB have already officially stated that they don’t intend picking up Wonderfalls.
With a full season made, however, the odds of a DVD release for all 13 eps are pretty good if we keep pestering, anyway).
Well, damn. It seems as if I’m always out of the loop. I didn’t know that WB had already decided not to use Wonderfalls. (Obviously. If I had, I would have never started this thread! ;))
The story I linked to does mention how much the “released” episodes are selling for on eBay (up to $450?) and I hope that does tell Fox that it would be worth their while to release the DVDs. Of course, it would be more worth their while to just renew the show, but God Forbid they do anything that makes that much sense . . .
Those assholes over at TWOP assigned a “recapper” who admitted going in she hated the series. Oddly enough, her recaps were full of hate & bile. :smack:
I’d be suprised, but it seems like now TWOP are the ones who are “sparing the snark” as their recaps- once somewhat insightful, sometimes funny and always snarky- are now just hatefilled diatribes. Eh, it happens. You get some bloggers who put togther a cool web site. After a while, the media pays some attention to them, and they get a swelled head- forgetting all they really are is minimum wage angst filled kids who got lucky.
I have heard there will likely be a DVD for Wonderfalls. It did seem like th enetwork was sabotaging it by showing the epis out of order, and showing a couple of the weakest as # 2&3. But this is the same network that killed Tick, so… I have to admit- I thought the 1st epi was good, but the next were “eh”. I likely wouldn’t BUY the DVD, but I have freinds that certainly will, and I’ll borrow theirs.
Well, at least it seems likely that there will be a DVD. At least that’s something.
I also saw epsiode #7. Very funny indeed. Not much talking animal action, but she finally got to kiss that cute bartender guy.
I wonder when they’ll get this DVD out so we can see all 13 episodes?
I used to really like the recaps at TWoP, but some of them aren’t so funny and snarky any more, they’re just downright mean-spirited. I loved the four episodes of Wonderfalls that were aired, and I know I’m not at all what they intended as their target audience - just goes to show you that you never know who’s watching. I thought it was funny and witty.
If they do release all 13 eps on DVD, I just might buy it.
Well, that explains a lot. I wondered why the Wonderfalls recaps sucked so much - just “she said this, then he said that, then they went there”. I still like their Survivor and Sopranos recaps, though - but then, I hate the same characters they hate, so I enjoy it.
I have an even better explanation- “the assholes at TWoP” work for NBC and i quote from the MSNBC site for Survivor
"There’s even an organized campaign over at Television Without Pity.com (full disclosure: the site’s founders also write for MSNBC.com) to try to send votes to Boston Rob, in the hopes that he’s the only one who can unseat Rupert’s impending millionairedom. Will it work? "
I was wondering why the NBC shows seem to get off light, and the real hate, hate, HATE was reserved for the other channels. Oh don’t get me wrong- they snark NBC also. But they don’t have bloggers that openly admit to hating a show being assigned to recap it.
