Woo! Trailer for ROTK:EE looks great! (spoilers, probably)

That’s the most romantic thing I’ve ever heard. No sarcasm… I really think that’s incredible.

Two nights ago we watched more extra footage from the TT EE together, to get ready for the big event. Then we made more naughty date plans, and implemented them last night.

She is my Tinúviel.

I really really really really really really really hope there’s going to be at least something with Eowyn and Faramir. I didn’t like how all you saw of them in the theatrical release was a quick shot at the end of the two of them mugging it up for the camera. Reminded me too much of the Happy Days finale.

There will be. Check out the preview clips and you’ll see a scene directly from the House of Healing part of the book.

“… I do not believe this darkness will endure.”

I will not hyperventilate. I will not hyperventilate.

I’ve got a 14 hour marathon in the planning stage. Probably the 15th. We’ll have to see when we’ve got time. I can’t wait. And there are going to be hours and hours of extra features, too!

I’ll second this. The lack of Denethor’s character development was the biggest flaw in the origninal version. He seems to be just randomly contradictory just to make the heros life more difficult, I really hope they fix this in EE, as I liked his character in the book.

The preview give me shivers and I can’t wait and all that, yadda yadda.

Now that that’s out of the way:
One thing I would like to see but doubt we will is Ghan-buri-Ghan. Oh well…

But I’ve been waiting to see Gandalf face down Saruman since I read the passage in the book years ago. I hope Theoden gets in his barbs, too.

Completely agree. I don’t consider myself to be extremely knowledgeable about all things Tolkien, but he’s a character I just really notice each time through.

I want to do the same but I have finals till the 20th!

Dilemma: watch it alone, the day it comes out, and skip a little studying that day? Or wait till exams are done and bribe my friends into coming for a megaparty, where I’ll only see the new movie after seeing the old ones again?

The problem with the second option is my unbelievably pitiful resource of willpower. The DVD stores will have the Extended Edition playing on the plasma screens in the windows and I’ll see it… I’ll have to buy it right away and then it’ll be sitting there in a drawer, taunting me. There will be spoiler threads and I won’t be able to stop my index finger from clicking the mouse. It’s become a completely automatic response.

What do I do?

Yes, yes, it’s a huge problem and slightly worse for me because it’s going to be released in the UK a bit earlier (10th Dec). I’m seriously considering taking up smoking as a displacement activity ( Pipeweed obviously). If that doesn’t work I will sob uncontrollably until my family take pity on me.
