Woody Allen adopts again

I read in the paper this morning that 60-something pervert Woody Allen and his 20-something former-stepchild-now-wife Soon-Yi have adopted another baby.

How is this even possible? Was he ever formally charged with abusing his other daughter? Were the charges dropped? Can someone who has been charged with sexual abuse be allowed to adopt? Or was it Mia’s word against his? How can a man of his age even be eligible to adopt? Aren’t people in their 40’s considered “old,” by adoption standards? Can you (allegedly) sexually abuse your young child, marry your step-daughter and then be allowed to adopt?

I assume these were private adoptions. Is there a system of checking out the background of people wishing to adopt in private adoptions?

Or is it becuase of money? Did he maybe spread some money around to affect the outcome of these adoptions?

I watched the Mia Farrow story and all charges of child molestation were dropped against Woody Allen.

AFAIK, in a private adoption, the main thing that determines if you get the kid is “can you fork over the dough?” .

I remember hearing when Woody and Soon-Yi adopted their first that some people were convinced it was their biological child - anyone else hear that?

I had originally thought that their first child was their biological child until I heard about the second child being adopted. It’s amazing what people will overlook if you have money. And Eve that was first the first thing I thought also.
